|

|
| Description | From: Harriet [Groat] and Mary [Winter], Fort Wayne, June 12, 1848 To: G.W., Logansport ALS, 4 p. (one sheet, folded; handwritten) |
| Description Continued | Harriet: Response to G.W.'s letter, in which he seemingly brought up their past differences; hopes they can start afresh. Regrets that she has no time to visit him before she returns to Dayton; hopes he will visit her there. They have not yet received his portrait of her father. Would also like to have a "Spotted Fawn" and another Indian work and will pay him when she returns home, "if they do not come too high." Would also like a portrait of [her husband] Benedict; she will send a miniature for him to work from. Mary: Glad to hear that G.W. is enjoying himself; she and the children are homesick and will return home as soon as he sends some money. Notation on address side: rec. June 13, 1848. |
