Abstract |
Thomas S. Wilmeth was born in Chicago and his parents moved to Indianapolis where he graduated from Broad Ripple High School. He then went to Purdue where he graduated in 1935 from the College of Engineering. He always liked to make things and founded Scot Industries where he still works everyday. He talks about the company, its products, and the challenges faced by a CEO. He was awarded US Patent 5196108 Sucked Rod Oil Well. Wilmeth helped establish the Library Scholars Grant Program in 1985, a 50th anniversary gift of the class of 1935, as well as supporting a number of initiatives within the Purdue Libraries THOR Day in 1992. Wilmeth also served as a member of the Dean of Libraries Emeritus Emily R. Mobley First Advisory Committee. |
