Large group of figures in wooded area , most seated , some standing ; one man astride horse . In center of scene , many persons seated on ground , facing a lean-to with fabric hung over vertical and horizontal supports , sheltering five men (three in clerical garb , two in Indian attire) , apparently standing on raised platform . In background , numerous campsites with tents , cooking pots suspended from forked uprights ; also horses grazing . Women's clothing includes decorated cape-like collars , skirts , shawls worn over head or shoulders , blankets , moccasins , cone earbobs , multi-strand necklaces , hourglass-shaped hair bows . Men's clothing includes ruffled and plain shirts , vest , blanket (one belted) , double-breasted coat , sashes from shoulders , winged leggings , turbans (some with patterned tails , peaked fronts , or hair roaches) , headbands with hair roaches , queues tied with ribbon bows ; ear wheels suspended from long loops .
