APPROVED 19 May 1969 with addition of item 15a. : Professor Simms moved that the chairmen of the Student Affairs Committee, the Faculty Affairs Committee and the Educational Policy Committee be delegated with whatever representatives they deem appropriate to accompany them to serve for the Senate at the meeting of the Board of Trustees to try to reconcile the Bill of Student Rights. Gibbens was present, were approved as distributed. 2. Professor Peterson moved acceptance of the agenda. The motion was seconded. Professor Ranken moved to add an item 3(a) to the Agenda, a document dated April 21, 1969 (University Senate Document 68-32) addressed to the Trustees of Purdue University via the President regarding the Bill of Student Rights (University Senate Document 68-13 (revised)), for action. The motion was seconded and carried. Professor Bell moved to add an item 3(b) to the Agenda, University Senate Document 68-30, University Policy Regarding Restriction of Group Activities and Organization Programs During the Reading and Final Examination Periods (University Senate Document 67-11). for discussion. The motion was seconded and carried. The Agenda, as amended, was accepted. 3. Professor Ranken presented University Senate Document 68-32, Bill of Student Rights (University Senate Document 68-13 (revised)), and. moved its approval for transmittal to the Board of Trustees. The motion was seconded, discussed, and carried. 4. Professor Bell presented University Senate Document 68-30, University Policy Regarding Restriction of Group Activities and Organization Programs During the Reading and Final Examination Periods (University Senate Document 67-11), for discussion. The document will be placed upon the May agenda for action. 5. Professor Vivian Johnson presented University Senate Document 68-20 (revised) (as amended 17 March 1969), Purdue University Appeals System (Lafayette Campus), and described revisions made in Articles 3 and 4 of the document. She moved approval of the substitution of the revised Article 3 (copy attached) for Article 3 in the amended document dated 17 March 1969. The motion was seconded. Professor Pearlman moved to amend paragraph 3.5 to make the second sentence read: A student wishing to contest such a grade shall file a petition with the Campus Appeals Board, which 2
