Whistler; Professor H. B. Kendall, Parliamentarian; Professor M. D. Roberts, Sergeant-at-Arms, and the following guests: J. P. Begin, R. W. Topping, John W. Hicks, James A. Papke, J. C. Ullman, D. F. Finn, M. T. Drayer, M. June Flanders and Stewart Stock. 1. Chairman pro tern Margerum called the meeting to order at 3:05 PM. 2. Professor Ullman, chairman of the Special Faculty Committee to consider faculty advice in regard to University policies concerning Service Staff employee relations,presented the report of his committee (University Senate Report No. 3), and a Resolution, University Senate Document 67-13. Professor Bachman moved that University Senate Document 67-13 be considered by the Senate, for transmittal to the Board of Trustees. The motion was seconded. After considerable discussion, the motion was defeated, 20 for and 34 against. Professor Bachman moved that the remarks made by Professor Ullman be made a part of the record, and the committee discharged. The motion was seconded and carried. Professor Parker moved that the resolution, though defeated, and the report of the Special Committee, be forwarded to the Board of Trustees. The motion was seconded. Professor Fischang moved to amend the motion to include also a record of the discussion that took place. The motion to amend was seconded and carried. The motion was carried, 34 for and 9 against. 3.
