W PURDUE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF PHARMACY AND PHARMACAL SCIENCES THE PURDUE PHARMACIST Vol. 64 Fall 1986 No. 1 EDITOR'S NOTE Back in 1936 The Purdue Pharmacist had many more students on the staff than we do today. Then it was a stick covered copy, ran about 25 pages or so per issue, and had a staff that was very impressive. The Editorial Staff consisted of: Editor-in- Chief; Associate Editor; Copy Editor; Head Photographer; and twelve writers. The Circulation Department consisted of: Circulation Manager; Associate Circulation Manager; and a staff of five. There was also a need for an Advertising Manager, an Associate Advertising Manager, and a staff of six helpers, since advertising was solicited. Finally, there was the Business Manager and an Associate Busi- «i Manager to keep the accounts ight. Today, due to financial problems, we have an Editor, and a few writers (the number depending on the space available for stories and articles), but we are still trying to keep the old tradition of "total continuity since 1924" alive. We hope we are providing the kind of information you wish. I would very much like to hear from you about our work. What prompted this was a nice letter I received quite recently from MARVIN SCHROEDER (Class of 1936) who was the Business Manager at that time — hence my choice of year to use as an example. Marvin still looks forward to news from the School through The Purdue Pharmacist. Thank you for writing, Marvin. That gave me an idea. I would like very much to have as many people as possible write to me about the position or positions they held in the making of this great magazine over the years, and what year or years you held the position. I would appreciate too any special tidbits of information that you thought were important or interesting during your time as a participant. Maybe we could have an issue (or at least part of an issue) on "Past Purdue Pharmacist Staff and their experiences." Write to me, Sherri Stevens, Editor, The Purdue Pharmacist, School of Pharmacy and Pharmacal Sciences, Purdue University West Lafayette, Indiana 47907. As your new editor I would appreciate it very much. Sherri Call for Award Nominations The Glen J.
