I. NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees (the "Board") of The Trustees of Purdue University (the "Corporation") convened in stated meefing at 10:05 a.m., Friday, July 9, 1999, in Room 304, Purdue Memorial Union Building, West Lafayette campus, pursuant to the following Notice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on June 15,1999.
In accordance with the Bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at 10 a.m., Friday, July 9, 1999, Anniversary Drawing Room, Purdue Memorial Union Building, West Lafayette campus.
Specific Agenda items will be posted and distributed subsequenfiy in the manner required by law.

Chairman McGinley called the meefing to order at 10:05 a.m. The following members of the Board were present as follows: Mrs. Edmondson, Ms. Teder, Messrs. Birck, Edwardson, Essex, Hardin, McGinley, Moreau, Powers, and Townsend. Also present for all or part of the meefing were Dr. Beering, President of the University; Mr. Burns, Treasurer of the Corporation and Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the University; Dr. Ringel, the University's Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs; Board Secretary Pearson; Legal Counsel Ryan; University Vice Presidents Almond, Bennett, Isom, Kjonaas, Robinson, Rollock, Strueh and Wise; Chancellors Alspaugh (North Central), Wartell (Fort Wayne) and Yackel (Calumet); and Professor Stanley Hem, Chair, University Senate.
Chairman McGinley congratulated Trustees Edwardson and Powers on their three-year reappointment to the Board. He welcomed newly appointed Student Trustee Amanda Teder to her first meeting. Michael Birck, long-term friend of this University, was also attending his first Trustee meeting as an alumni association replacement for Bob Jesse.
