I. NOTICE OF MEETING.
,_ The Board of Trustees (the "Board") of The Trustees of furdue University (the "Corporation") convened in stated meeting at 1:50 p.m., Friday, September 19, 1997, in Room 304, Purdue Memorial Union Building, West Lafayette campus, pursuant to the following Notice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on August 18, 1997:
In accordance with the Bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 19, 1997, Anniversary Drawing Room, Purdue Memorial Union, on the West Lafayette campus.
Specifip Agenda items will be ppsted and distributed subsequently in the manner required by law.
II. ROLL CALL, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1997.
Chairman MpGinley palled the meeting to order at 1:50 p.m. The following members of the Board were present as follows: Mrs. Edmondson, Messrs. Essex, Hardin, Jesse, MpGinley, MpKenna, Moreau, Powers and Townsend. Also present for all or part of the meeting were Dr. Beering, President of the University; Dr. Ford, Treasurer of the Corporation and Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the University; Dr. Ringel, the University's Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs; Board Secretary Pearson; Legal Counsel Ryan; University Vice Presidents Bennett, Burns, Kjonaas, Sautter and Wise; Interim Vice President Hawkins; Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Burke; Chancellors Alspaugh (North Central), Wartell (Fort Wayne) and Yackel (Calumet); James Chisholm, Student Body President, Purdue Student Government; Professor Linda Duttlinger, Chair, University Senate and Professor Stanley Hem, Vice Chaiintian, University Senate.
The absence of Trustee Edwardson was excused by consent of the Board.
Chairman McGinley welcomed newly appointed  Trustees Edmondson and McKenna.
