STATED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY

I. NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees (the "Board") of The Trustees of Purdue University (the "Corporation") convened in stated meeting at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 2, 1996, in Room 132, Conference Center, on the campus of Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis, pursuant to the following Notice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on January 3, 1996:
In accordance with the Bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 2, 1996, Room 132, Conference Center, on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
Specific Agenda items will be posted and distributed subsecjuently in the manner recjuired by law.
II. ROLL CALL, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1996.
Chairman McGinley called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. The following members of the Board were present as follows: Dr. Ecker, Ms. Shropshire, Messrs. Edwardson, Essex, Hardin, Jesse, McGinley, Moreau, Taylor, and Townsend. Also present for all or part of the meeting were Dr. Beering, President of the University; Dr. Ford, Treasurer of the Corporation and Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the University; Dr. Ringel, the University's Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs; Board Secretary Pearson; Legal Counsel Ryan; University Vice Presidents Bennett, Burns, Fruitt, Huie, Kjonaas, Proenza, and Wise; Chancellors Alspaugh (North Central) and Wartell (Fort Wayne); Christine Moser, Student Body President, Purdue Student Government; and Professor Linda Duttlinger, Vice Chairperson, University Senate.
Chairman McGinley offered a special welcome to Trustee John Edwardson, the newest Trustee appointment to the Board. Chairman McGinley noted that Trustee Edwardson has had a successful career in the telecommunications industry and more recently as the United Airlines president. He also has the unicjue distinction of being the first Trustee of any Indiana university to reside out of state.
