PURDUE UNIVERSITY

The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in Executive Session in Room 306 of the Purdue Memorial Union Building of the University at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 1989, pursuant to the following notice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on November 2, 1989:
Pursuant to call of the President of the Board of Trustees, there will be an executive session of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University, convening at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 1989, in Room 306 of the Purdue Memorial Union Building on the West Lafayette Campus, for discussion of pending or threatened litigation, to receive information concerning, and to discuss, the status of employees or other persons within the Board's jurisdiction, to discuss evaluation of individual employees, and other matters as specified in and permitted by Section 6 (a) of Public Law No. 57 of the 1977 Acts of the Indiana General Assembly (IC 5-14-1.5-6[a]).
President Powers called the meeting to order in Executive Session at 7:30 a.m. All members of the Board were present. Also present was Dr. Beering, President of the University.
Dr. Beering and the Trustees reviewed anticipated vacancies in several individual senior administrative positions, at the dean and chancellor level, and the need for replacements.
After Dr. Beering left the meeting. President Powers discussed his reasons for wishing to relinquish the Board chairmanship.
By consent, the Executive Session adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
Pursuant to IC 5-14-1.5-6(d), it is hereby certified that the Board discussed no subject matter in the Executive Session other than the subjects set forth above, pursuant to the above form of public notice. No matters of litigation were discussed.
