' wi/2..iw <:x-«^ To-the Board of Trustees: i^^^^^u^ c^ J ^Qg ^^ report the following payroll and salary budget i^-c*=s:-Etdiv«/ ^® determined for the ensuing year. ^^'-r^. It has been found necessary to increase the number of teachers by the addition of sixteen persons on account of the very large enrollment of students, bringing the total number of instructors up to 209. Last year the number of instructors was 185, but this was lower than the normal owing to the absence of eleven members of the staff on war duty and the smaller number of students to be instructed. At the meeting of the Board in April, I was authorized to increase the salaries of the teaching staff, making due pro¬ vision for a larger number of students with the expectation that the total salary budget would not exceed |400,000. This has been accomplished and the total salary allowance for the coming year is fixed at 1599,525. In addition to this, the payroll of the Library Staff amounts to $4,650 and the payroll of the Staff of Physical Education to $7,500. This latter, however, is met in part by the Income from athletic games. The employees' payroll amounts to $77,490 after providing ' *n increase of $7,48o. The total budget for salaries of the teaching staff. Library staff, the Physical Education staff and employees cal¬ culated to June 50, 1920 amounts to $489,165. This comes well within my estimate of June last which was $500,000. Respectfully submitted, W.E, Stone (Signed)
