STATED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY
April 7, 2006
A meeting of the Board of Trustees was held in Room 326, Stewart Center, West Lafayette, Indiana at 8:30 a.m. on April 7, 2006.
The following Trustees were present: McGinley (chairman), Birck, Cumberbatch, Edmondson, Hardin, Oesterie, Peterson, Powers, Spurgeon, Townsend.
Also in attendance were President Jischke, Provost Mason, Executive Vice President and Treasurer Olsen, Vice President and Assistant Treasurer Almond, Legal Counsel Benton, and Secretary Behringer. Present by invitation to make reports to the Board were Alysa Rollock, Vice President for Human Relations; Athletic Director Burke; Professor Timothy Skvarenina, Chair, University Senate; Ms. Jessica Hoffman, President, Purdue Student Government; PUC Chancellor Howard Cohen; Professor Nashwan Younis, Speaker of the Purdue Faculty at IPFW; and Mr. John Coggins, Vice President, Student Senate, PNC.
I. FUTURE MEETING SCHEDULE.
Chairman McGinley drew attention to the listing of future meetings and commencements, paying special attention to November 16, 2007. This meeting will be held on the campus of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (lUPUl).
II.       APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Upon proper motion duly seconded, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the following meetings:
Executive Sessions, February 2, 2006; February 3, 2006; March 5, 2006 Stated Meeting, February 3, 2006
III.       REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT.
President Jischke reviewed the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report for Purdue's College of Engineering, Krannert School of Management, College of Science and College of Education. In addition, Purdue's Housing and Food Services was named Best in Show in Food Management magazine's 2006 Best Concept awards.    Dr. Jischke reported on Governor Daniel's bird flu
