STATED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY June 30, 2005 A meeting of the Board of Trustees was held in Room 326, Stewart Center, West Lafayette, Indiana at 8:35 a.m. on June 30, 2005. The following Trustees were present: McGinley (Chairman), Birck, Cusick, Edmondson, Edwardson, Essex, Hardin, Peterson, Powers, Townsend. Also in attendance were President Jischke, Provost Mason, Executive Vice President and Treasurer Olsen, Vice President and Assistant Treasurer Almond, Legal Counsel Benton, and Secretary Behringer. Present by invitation to make reports to the Board were Executive Vice President Blackwelder and Athletic Director Burke. I. FUTURE MEETING SCHEDULE. Chairman McGinley drew attention to the listing of future meetings and commencements, paying special attention to the May 2006 commencement dates. Due to lUPUl's commencement on Sunday afternoon, May 14, Purdue West Lafayette will have a commencement on Friday evening, two commencements on Saturday and one on Sunday morning. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Upon proper motion duly seconded, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the following meetings: Executive Sessions, May 19, 2005 and May 20, 2005 Stated Meeting, May 20, 2005 III. REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT. President Jischke reviewed the progress of the Campaign for Purdue; congratulated Purdue's faculty on record level sponsored program support; announced a variety of faculty hires campus-wide; reviewed Purdue's admission process along with the Day on Campus program and Boiler Gold Rush; and reported that Purdue's collaborative work with other Indiana universities is stronger than at any time in the University's history. In addition. Dr. Jischke in reviewing the impact of Discovery Park on the University and the state of Indiana, expressed deep gratitude to Lilly Endowment for their aid to higher education and their assistance to communities and organizations throughout Indiana. President Jischke concluded his remarks by expressing appreciation to those Trustees
