Banks, Beem, Stuart, Downing, Stemen & MajorMinutes of last meeting May 4 approved.Prest [President] Stone verbally reported progress made in erection & equipment of Heating Plant, also the beginning of the Physics building.Dr Stone stated that there would be a convention of Newspaper man at Lafayette June 16th and that a request had been made for the use of Fowler Hall at that time. The Board decided that the Eliza Fowler Hall could not be used except in occasions when Purdue University was directly interested, and authorized the use of one of the other buildings.The matter of a deficit in Purdue Y.M.C.A. affairs was brought to the attention of the Board and on Mr Banks motion it was decided to take up for them a [note?] amounting to $500.00. and this action on the part of the Board shall not be taken as precedent for any future requests of a like nature. Prest Stone stated he had closed contract with Mr W.M. Hepburn as Librarian in accordance with report made last meeting.On Mr Downings motion the Secretary was instructed to draw duplicate warrant No 2990. Station warrant for J.C. Arthur for $7.95.President Stone submitted the following written communication.1st. Final report of Eliza Fowler Hall & the Fowler organ. I have the honor to submit the following report upon the completion and dedication of Eliza Fowler Hall.Mrs Fowler’s gift of November 26 – 1901 was $60,000 subsequently increased to $70,000.The Building Committee appointed by the Board of Trustees consisted of Prest W.V. Stuart, Prest W.E. Stone & Dean W.F.M. Goss.The architects of the building were Vonnegut & Bohr of Indianapolis, who received for their services 2,117.00Contracts for the work were as follows:For the building W.P. Jungclaus Co Indpolis 57,590.00For heating apparatus Wallace Bros Lafayette 6,450.00For plumbing apparatus Wallace Bros Lafayette 448.00For gas fitting Wallace Bros Lafayette 100.25For electric wiring Sanborn Merch Co Indpolis 686.75For lighting fixtures Indpolis Dist Tele Co 1050.0068,442.00
