http://e-archives.lib.purdue.edu/botpdf/BOTM19070904.pdfSeptember 4 – 1907Meeting of TrusteesPresent Messrs Johnson, Beem, Major, Harris, Miller, Oliver, & Jamison.Minutes of meeting June 12 read and approved.Mr Jamison delegated to interview the authorities of West Lafayette regarding the cleaning of State Street along the line of the University grounds, reported that the Town Council had agreed to care for the street in the future.Prest [President] Harris appointed a building committee as follows: Stone, Oliver, & Jamison.Plans and specifications for the new Expt Station building made by R.P. Daggett & Co were presented to the Board for inspection, the Board adopted them in the main, and the Committee was given power to carry out the details, let contract etc.The matter of plans, and specifications for the memorial Gymnasium made by Mohuran & Mohuran of Fort Wayne were freely discussed by the Board, and the following motion adopted. 1st. That the plans and specifications for the Memorial Gymnasium prepared and submitted by Mohuran & Mohuran Architects be not approved by the Board, and they are hereby discharged and the contract of date Oct 8 – 1906 is rescinded.2nd. That the Secretary inform said Architects thereof.3rd. That the matter of the future plans, and specifications, for said Memorial Gymnasium is hereby referred by the Board to the Building Committee comprised of Messrs Stone, Oliver, & Jamison with full power to act, and proceed to secure proper plans, and the construction of said building without further delay.Pres’t Stone presented the following written communications.1st. Resignation of Dean Goss, and the appointment of his successor Prof Benjamin, rec’d, read and on Mr Johnsons motion approved.Sept 4 – 1907To the Board of Trustees of Purdue UniversityThe resignation of Prof W.F.M. Goss was handed to me on July 8th. After consultation with the President of the Board and in accordance with his advice, I at once took steps to secure a successor , and was able, on August 11th, to announce that Professor Charles, Henry, Benjamin, of the Case School of Applied Science of Cleveland, had accepted the appointment. I recommend that the Board finally ratify this action viz
