See file “A”After a lengthy discussion of the Medical School matter the following resolution by Mr Harris was by vote unanimously approved.Moved That it is the sense of the Board that for the present it will not revoke the agreement with the Medical Colleges, and that the President appoint a committee of three to confer with the Trustees of the Medical College, and such others as by the Committee may be deemed proper for the best interests of Medical education, and the welfare of Purdue University. And the committee report at the next meeting of the Board.The Committee covered by above resolution and appointed by Prest [President] Stuart is as followsBeem, Harris, Downing, & Stone.Prest Stone stated that the Authorities of the Town of West Lafayette had refused to have cleaned that portion of State street in front of Purdue property, and that the Town was receiving the benefit of certain electric lights, and fire plugs paid for by the University, the matters were left to Prest Stuart and Dr Stone with power to act.The following written communications were presented by Prest Stone1st. Regarding the new course in Forestry and Chemical Engineering. Paper received, read and approved.April 25 – 1907 To the Board of TrusteesI have to report that the Faculty, as authorized at a previous meeting of the Board, has organized new courses of study as follows.1st. Forestry In connection with the School of Science, consisting of subjects in biology, botany, and technical forestry subjects, administered during the last three years of the course. The purpose of this course is not to train professional foresters, but to offer such courses as will be of value to the farmer, lumberman, and owner of forest property.2nd. Chemical Engineering A distinct course has been arranged by combining certain subjects in chemistry and engineering now taught in the Schools of Science and Engineering. Such a combination has not before been available to a
