The business of the meeting was stated by President Stone, who called the attention of the Board to the removal by Dr. J C Arthur on July 4 of valuable material from the Botanical Laboratory of the Experiment Station. The same consisted of an herbarium of rusts, cases, drawings, manuscripts, etc. all being of great value in connection with the study of rusts carried on by the Experiment Station for many years.See file (1) concerning ownership of botanical material now in the hands of J C Arthur.After a full discussion of the subject, audience was granted to Mr. W S Potter, representing Dr. Arthur, who stated Dr Arthur’s claims of ownership of this material. Director Woodbury and Professor Jackson of the Experiment Station were also called in for information. Mr. W.V. Stuart submitted the following resolution.Be It Resolved, That the action of Dr. J.C. Arthur formerly Chief in Botany in the Experiment Station at Purdue University, in removing on the 4th day of July, 1918, from the Experiment Station, the rust herbarium collected, classified and maintained by the University at great expense from the Adams Fund appropriated by the General Government at Washington for research work, and the manuscript covering said subject, which has been under preparation by the staff of the Experiment Station for over 3 years last past at great expense, be disap-
