Oliver, William V. Stuart, Cyrus M. Hobbs, Warren T McCray, John A Hillenbrand, Andrew E. Reynolds, Franklin F Chandler and James W Noel.Charles Downing was reported absent on account of illness.The meeting was attended by W.E. Stone, President of the University.Mr Oliver presided at the meeting and Mr. Noel was appointed temporary secretary.The minutes of the meeting of April 27 were read and approved.President Stone reported verbally to the Board on the status of Professor Christie and his relations with the University while engaged in his work with the United States Department of Agriculture during the war period, which report was approved.President Stone made a report in writing on the conduct of the Auto Mechanical School being conducted under contract with the War Department and the financing of the project, which report was in the language following, to-wit:June 11, 1918To the Board of Trustees:I beg to report upon the operation of the Auto Mechanics School as follows:510 enlisted men reported here on April 27th and 28th. 8 Army officers were on the grounds to receive and organize them. The instruction began on May 1st and will be completed on June 26th, comprising of 8 full weeks.The progress of the Detachment has been excellent as evidenced by the
