The Board of Trustees of Purdue University met in Eliza Fowler Hall at 9:30 A. M.,   on Tuesday May 5, 1931, in accordance with action taken at the stated meeting held April 8, 1951,  and pursuant to  the following notice mail¬ ed by  the Secretary to each member of the Board on April  24:
"In accordance with the  action taken at the stated meeting held on April 8, 1931,   the Board will meet  in special session at 9:30 A. M.,  on Tuesday, May 5, 1931,  in Eliza Fowler Hall".
There were present:    Messrs Edgerton,  Hall, Hillenbrand,  Kimbrough, Simpson, Mrs. Meredith, President Ross and. the President  of  the University.
Mr. Noel and Mr.  Lilly were prevented from attending by important busi¬ ness engagements.
President Ross presided and the Secretary acted as secretary.
IJlT.   Stewart sat with the Board throughout tho afternoon session.
ll.   APPROVAL OF MINUTES.
The minutes of   the stated meeting of April 8, 1931 were read and ap¬ proved.
II.    OPENING OF  BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE POSTER PLAI^'T ADDITION.
As 10:00 A. M.  was the hour appointed for receiving bids for the con¬ struction of the Addition  to the Power Plant,   this was the next order of business.
A number of bidders entered, accompanied by Controller Stewart,  Super¬ intendent Bushnell,  Construction Superintendent Hamilton, Engineer G.   C King and Walter Scholer,  Architect.
Controller Stewart read  the names of the bidders to ascertain whether the bids of all  contractors present had been received.    As it appeared that all bids had been received.  Controller Stewart proceeded  to open and read the bids  fbr General Construction, Plumbing and Heating, Electric V/iring and Pov.-er Piping,   in the  order listed above;  and at the request of President
