Given Degrees.

Eliza Fowler Hall Monday,  June 13,  1952.
In accordance with the bylaws and pursuant to  the following notice,
mailed by the Secretary to each member of the Board on May 28,  the Board of
Trustees met in regular session at 9:50 A. M., Monday,  June 15,   1952  in
Eliza Fowler Hall:
"In accordance with the provisions of the bylaws,   the armual meeting of the Board of Trustees of Purdue University will be held on Monday,  June 15,  1952,   that being the date preceding Com¬ mencement Day."
There were present:    Mrs. Meredith, Messrs Edgerton, Hall, Hillenbrand, Kimbrough, Lilly,  Noel,  Simpson,  President Ross and the President of the University.
Controller Stewart sat with the Board from 10:00 o'clock until ad¬ journment.
President Ross presided and the Secretary acted as secretary.
L^ AUTHORITY GIVEN TO CONFER DEGREES.
President Elliott presented the following list of candidates for de¬ grees, recommended by the President and Faculty of the University, and certified by the Registrar.
Mr. Noel moved that the Board authorize the conferring of the degrees, both under-graduate and advanced, as shown in the document presented by President Elliott, subject to such modifications as the President and Faculty may decide upon prior to the delivery of the degrees. Mr. Hillen¬ brand seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously.
President Elliott called attention to the fact that the number of candidates for degrees was the largest in the history of Purdue University.
