STATED MEETING OF.THE BOARD^OF..TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY
Notice of Meeting
Roll Call
Eliza Fowler Hall Wednesday, April 19, 1935
Pursuant to the following notice, mailed by the Secretary to each mem¬ ber of the Board on April 6, 1955, the Board of Trustees met in Eliza Fow¬ ler Hall at 9:50 A. M. on Wednesdsy April 19, 1955:
"In accordance with the provisions of the bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of Purdue University in Eliza Fowler Hall, on Wednesday April 19, 1955,"
There were present: Mrs. Meredith, Messrs Edgerton, Hall, Hillenbrand, Kimbrough, Noel, Simpson, President Ross and the President of the University.
President Ross presided and the Secretary acted as secretary.
Controller Stewart was present during the afternoon session.
The Secretary presented a letter from President Elliott, expressing the appreciation felt by himself and Ms brothers for the empathy sho?m by the Trustees at the time of his father's death.
The communication was received and ordered placed on the records.

To the Trustees of the University:
For ny brothers as well as nyself, and also the close friends of ny father, I desire to express the profound and lasting appre¬ ciation of the gracious and reverent tribute presented by the Trustees at the last rites for ny father.
Though ny father was known to and honored by several of the members of the Trustees, I am not immindful that the gracious sympathy expressed was also for me personally. As the d^s of striving and of happiness and of sorrow pass in order, I am made always more keenly aware of the kindly fate that has permitted me to be a worker along with you.
