Juty 2, 1957
The Board of Trustees met at 10:00 o'clock A. M., on Jdy 2, 1957,
in the Conference Room in the Executive Bdldng in special meeting
pursuant to the following notice mdled ty the Secretary to each member
j of the Board on June 21, 1957, in accordance with the By-Lav/s to wit:
June'21, 1957
"President Ross has instructed me to notify you that there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University at 10:00 A. M., Friday, Juty 2, 1957, in the Executive Bdlding:  (l) To receive, open, consider, and act upon bids for the construction of the proposed additions to the Service and Stores Building and to the Physics Bdlding; and (2) To consider and act upon any other matters or business that may come before said meeting."
II. ROLL CALL.
The following Trustees were present: Miss McHale, Messrs. Hdl, Noel Simpson, Ross, and Tftieeler, being the majority and quorum of the Board.
Dr. Edward C. Elliott, President of the University, R. B. Stewart, Con¬ troller of the University, and F. C Hockema, Secretary of the Board, were also present.
' The following Trustees were absent: Messrs. Edgerton, Hillenbrand, and Lilty. President Elliott reported that Messrs. Hillenbrand and Lilty were on a trip abroad and Mr. Edgerton was on an urgent business trip. After discussion and on motion of Mr. Noel, seconaed by Mr. Hall and unanimousty carried, all excuses for absence were approved.
Mr. Ross presided, and the Secretary acted as secretary.
