STATED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY Room 326, Stewart Center September 19, 2003 I. NOTICE OF MEETING. The Board of Trustees (the "Board") of The Trustees of Purdue University (the "Corporation") convened in stated meefing at 7:30 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2003, Room 326, Stewart Center, Purdue University West Lafayette campus, pursuant to the following Revised Nofice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on September 15, 2003. In accordance with the Bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at 7:30 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2003, Room 326, Stewart Center, Purdue University West Lafayette Campus. Specific Agenda items will be posted and distributed subsequently in the manner required by law. II. ROLL CALL, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2003. Chairman McGinley called the meefing to order at 7:30 a.m. The following members of the Board were present as follows: Ms. Cusick, Mrs. Edmondson, Messrs. Birck, Essex, Hardin, McGinley, Peterson, Powers and Townsend. Also present for all or part of the meeting were Dr. Jischke, President of the University; Mr. Burns, Treasurer of the Corporation and Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the University; Dr. Mason, the University's Provost; Board Secretary Behringer; Legal Counsel Benton; Senior Vice President Blackwelder; University Vice Presidents Almond, Bennett, Bottum, Kjonaas, Robinson, Rollock, and Strueh; Director of Intercollegiate Athlefics Burke; Director of Strategic Planning Mukerjea; Chancellors Cohen (Calumet), Dworkin (North Central), and Wartell (Fort Wayne); Professor William Harper, Chair, University Senate; Mr. Matthew Morgan, President, Purdue Student Government; Dean Chrisfiansen; Professor Thomas Brady, Chairman, PNC Faculty Council; and Mr. Ricardo Garcia, President, PUC Student Government. The absence of Trustee Edwardson was approved by the Board. III. RESOLUTION FOR GOVERNOR FRANK O'BANNON. Chairman McGinley expressed appreciafion for Governor O'Bannon's leadership in placing educafion at the top of his priority list. Everyone benefited, during the last session of the legislature, from his guidance and leadership. He was the exemplar of a public servant, serving the people of Indiana for over thirty years.
