STATED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF
PURDUE UNIVERSITY
Room 326, Purdue Memorial Center March 2-3, 1971
Trustees' Room, Executive Building .
I. NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in stated meeting at 8:02 pm on Tuesday, March 2, 1971, in Room 326, Purdue Memorial Center, pursuant to the foUo-wing notice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on February 10, 1971:
In accordance -with the Bylaws, there -wall be a stated meeting of-the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at approximately 7:45 pm EST on Tuesday, March 2, 1971, in Room 326, Purdue Memorial Center, and at 9:30 am EST on Wednesday, March 3, 1971, in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University, in order to:
1. Consider and act upon bids for the folio-wing construction
projects:
a. Indiana-Purdue Regional Campus at Fort Wayne -
Utilities and Campus Ser-vices, Alteration to the Heating System of.Education Building,
b. Ross-Ade Stadium - West Concourse Pa-ving,
c. Storage Building;
2. Consider and act upon any other matter or business which
may come before said meeting.
Prior to the meeting. Trustees, their spouses. President and Mrs. Hovde were dinner guests of the members of Mortar Board, senior woim,en's honorary. At that time, announcement -w^s made that Mortar Board had named a $2, 400 four-year scholarship for President Hovde, for his "many contributions to Purdue and the Lafayette community and for the deep interest he has sho-wn in the welfare of Purdue women students. " This is the first Mortar Board scholarship named for a man.
n. ROLL CALL, MARCH 2, 1971.
President Knoy called the meeting to order at 8:02 pm. All members of the Board except two were present as follows: Mrs. Myers, Messrs, Brumfield, Graham, Heine, Knoy, Rumely and Wilson. The absences of Trustees Hillenbrand and Walb were excused by consent of the Board. Also present were President Hovde, Vice President and Treasurer Freehafer, University Vice Presidents Andrews, Hawkins, Lawshe and Mallett, Counsel
