428 STATED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY Room 326, Purdue Memorial Center Trustees' Roonn, Executive Building L NOTICE OF MEETING, January 17, 1967 January 18, 1967 The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in stated meeting in Room 326, Purdue Memorial Center, at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 1967, pursuant to the following notice mailed to each member of the Board by the Secretary on December 29, 1966: In accordance with provisions of the Bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at approximately 7:45 pm CDT (immediately following dinner) on Tuesday, January 17, 1967, in Room 326, Purdue Memorial Center, and at 9:00 am CDT on Wednesday, January 18, ,1967, in the Trustees,' Room of the Executive Building of the University, in order to; 1. Consider and act upon bids for the following construction projects - , , a. Purdue Memorial Union - Remodel Sweet Shop - 1967 b. Education Building - Air Condition Basennent c Honne Economics Building Two - Air Condition Roonn 210; 2. Consider and act upon any other matter or business which may come before said meeting. Immediately after dinner and prior to convening of the meeting. University Vice President Mallett briefly reviewed some of the experiences of the various University groups which had visited Pasadena, California, and had participated in the festivities connected with the Tournament of Roses and the Rose Bowl football game on January 2, 1967. Purdue won the game, 14-13, from the University of Southern California. All present agreed that the entire trip was a great adventure, it was effectively organized and managed, and the students had behaved in exemplary fashion. IL ROLL CALL, Vice President Kettler called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. All members of the Board except two were present as follows: Mrs. White (arrived at 8:30 pm), Messrs. Brumfield, Kettler, Knoy, Rumely, Wickard and Wilson (arrived at 8:10 pm). The absences of Messrs. Thompson and Lowe were ex¬ cused by consent. Mr. Lowe had recently undergone serious surgery in an Indianapolis hospital, and President Thompson was attending, with President Hovde and Dr. Hicks, a hearing held by the General Assembly House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee (Indianapolis). Also present were Vice President and Treasurer Freehafer, University Vice Presidents Andrews, Chenea, Lawshe and Mallett, Counsel Schilling, Business Manager
