Beem was called upon to preside.Minutes of last meeting Nov. 7 read and adopted.On motion of Mr. Banks Board appointed a committee consisting of Mr. Stuart & Major Van Natta to sell the Heavilon block for not less than $7000.The circulars from committee representing parties desirous of getting duplicates of a bust of Senator Morrill were presented to Board and on Mr. Van Natta’ motion the matter was placed in Prest. [President] Smarts hands with power to act.Dr. Smart made a verbal report regarding a dispute concerning certain rails purchased of O.C. Goldsmith for $176.40 and claimed by the Lake Erie Railroad Co. On Mr. Banks’ motion the President of University was instructed to defend the rights of the University in the matter.On Mr. Banks’ motion it was decided to request Mr. Stuart Trustee of the Heavilon fund to apply the rentals etc. derived from the real estate to the payment of interest on loan from the Indiana Trust Co. and that Dr. Smart be authorized to draw up a resolution to that effect.Dr. Arthur’s claim of $109.80 was taken up and laid over again for a full meeting of Board.On Mr. Davidson’s motion the Board appointed Mr. Stuart as chairman with the power to select two or more members to constitute a Committee to look after Purdue’s interests in the State Legislature.President Smart reported on a loan of desks from Folckemer & Son and of rails from Wabash RR; the same was on Mr. Davidson’s motion ordered recorded and reads as follows:To the Board of TrusteesIn a report dated November 7 - 1894 I referred to a loan from Wm. Folckemer and one from the Wabash railroad. I wish to state more explicitly the facts relating to these loans.1. William Folckemer made forty desks for us at $15.00 each, total $600. and loaned them to us at a rental of six per cent. Thus all the new drawing tables in the
