Office Monday evening Present Messrs Stuart, Banks, Davidson, Wiley, Johnson, & BeemMr. Johnson presented his appointment as a member of the Board, said appointment running for three years from the 25th day of Aug. 1891 and properly signed & sealed. Mr. Beem also presented his certificate of appointment, the period being for three years from the 25th of Aug. 1891. Minutes of last meeting June 9-10 read & adopted. President Smart reported that the Auditor of State acting under advice of the Att’y. General had agreed to pay the $5000 Farmers Institute Fund for year ending Oct. 31-1892. Said amount to be drawn in installments as needed and that for the year ending Oct. 31-1891 the University had reserved the sum of $610. Report accepted and approved. Committee on streets reported no action taken in regard to the opening up of a street on East line of University grounds South side. Committee given further time. A similar report was made regarding the improvement of State Street, the town of West Lafayette authorities and Country officials desiring the street railroad over the line of the gutter on the North side of State street from main entrance to grounds to Grant street East. On Mr. Wiley’s motion the street Committee was continued with power to act. The Secretary was directed to convey the thanks of the Board to the Worthington Pump Co. for their gift of a handsome pump. All matters in dispute between Prof. Plumb and the farm force were left to the Committee on stock with power to act. On Mr. Wiley’s motion the Board granted to Prof. Plumb & Dr. Williams time under Pres. Smart’s direction to attend to the duties of the departments offered them by the managers of the
