Pursuant to a call of President Sutherland the Board of Trustees met this day at the Office of John A. Stein in the City of Lafayette. Present President Sutherland and Messrs [Messieurs] Ratliff, Haynes, Dobelbower and Williams Trustees: and also President White and M.L. Peirce Treasurer. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Messrs [Messieurs] Williams and Stein the Committee heretofore appointed on the settlement of L.A. Burke’s accounts as Farm Superintendent reported verbally that they recommend the acceptance and ratification of his reported account, as whatever might be found owing by him, in excess of his stated balance, is covered by his late discharge in bankruptcy. The report was received and adopted. The Board adjourned to meet at Purdue University tomorrow afternoon. Thursday, January 22, 1880. 2 o’clock P.M. Pursuant to adjournment the Board met at the above hour in the President’s Office in Purdue University. Present as yesterday. The following resolution offered by Mr. Dobelbower was adopted unanimously viz: “Resolved that the settlement made with the Administrators of the Purdue Estate by M.L. Peirce Treasurer of Purdue University, be and the same is hereby approved and ratified, and in order to carry out its intent John A. Stein is hereby authorized as the Attorney and Agent of this Board to assign of Record to Jacob F. Marks as Trustee for himself and his associates, or such other proper parties as may be entitled to the same, the judgment obtained by said Administrators against Frederick Geiger, heretofore
