(At La Fayette)Pursuant to a call of President Ratliff the Trustees convened in session on the above day at the office of their Secretary John A. Stein in La Fayette Ind.; present President Ratliff and Trustees Ragan, Williams, Peddle and Hargrove. Also present Prest. [President] White. President White read to the Board his annual report, forming the text for the coming year’s Catalogue or Register of Purdue University. The same was taken under advisement by the Board. On motion of Mr. Hargrove it was ordered that the June annual session of The Trustees for the present year convene at Purdue University on Tuesday, June 5th at 3 P.M. Prest. [President] Ratliff laid before the Board the following communication form Miss Annie S. Peck, A.M., Instructor in Latin and Education in the University, viz: “Mr. Joseph C. Ratliff—Present of the Board of Trustees. Dear Sir, I have long desired to continue my studies in Europe, and as the climate of La Fayette persistently disagrees with my health, I have concluded that it is best for me to change both my work and my location at the close of the present year. Accordingly I tender to you my resignation as instructor in the University to take effect Sept. 1. Very respectfullyAnnie S. Peck. Purdue University La Fayette, Ind. April 14, 1883.” The above resignation was considered and accepted and the Secretary was directed to certify to Miss Peck their regret upon her resignation and their high estimation of her ability in the line of her profession and their perfect satisfaction with her services as Instructor in Purdue University.
