Present Messrs Davidson, Ragan, Stuart, Banks, Hammond & Bybee. Minutes of preceeding [preceding] meeting Aug. 6th read and adopted. The Building Committee presented their report which reads as follows. To the Board of Trustees of Purdue UniversityGentlemenWe the undersigned your Building Committee respectfully report that we have made the following contracts in addition to those reported August 6 1889 (1) With William Wallace & Bro. Natural Gas Plant for Engine House for $432. (2) Same for Boarding Hall & Green House $63. (3) Same for Station $82 (4) With Wm. Wallace & Bro for Drain, Dry Well & Water Service $74.25 (5) With Adam Herzog for substitution of Stone for Brick part of East front Electrical Laboratory for $500. Also for raising 3rd story of Electrical Laboratory to 7 ½ feet in the clear, for the sum of $100. For longer joists over Lecture room in Electrical Laboratory $60. For additional windows in 3rd story of Electrical Laboratory $125. For putting stone arches over two large windows in tower $125. For ventilator in Cupola of Experiment Feed Barn $50. They also report that they have made a contract with the Natural Gas Co. to supply gas to the Engine House, Water Closets, Green House, Station & New Barn for the sum of $2500 for the year commencing Sept. 15 1889. That they have also made a contract with Edward Burckly for putting in (9) [piers?] for Engine, dynamo’s, motors & Apparatus for the sum of $602. C.B. StuartJ.H. SmartBuilding Committee On Mr. Bank’s motion the report was approved and accepted The President made verbal reports as follows: That the Horse Model was purchased of Mr. Leggatt for $218 That the claim of Prof. Huston for $25 back pay was found correct and was paid. A decision from the Attorney General on the manner and time of holding Farmers Institute meeting was read and the Board ordered it spread upon the records together with a former decision from him
