Present, Genl. M.D. Manson, President, and Mess. [Messieurs] Sutherland, Haynes, Ratliff, Wells and Dobelbower, Trustees. On motion of Mr. Sutherland the Secretary was ordered to notify Govr. [Governor] J.D. Williams of the pending session of the Board and extend to him the cordial invitation of the Trustees to be present. Mr. Dobelbower moved that the Treasurer (who is now present) be instructed to confer with the administrators of the estate of John Purdue deceased in reference to the indebtedness of the estate to the University and its payment, and invite then to meet the Board to-morrow.  The Board then adjourned to meet to-morrow morning at the residence of President White, near the University—he being too sick to leave his house. Tuesday morning, October 22, 1878. 9 A.M. Pursuant to adjournment the Board met at the above hour at the residence of President White; present as yesterday, and also President White. On motion the minutes of the last session, held in June, were read by the Secretary and approved. President White then read to the Board his written report and suggestions concerning the condition, organization, etc. of the University, which was taken under advisement—the Secretary being ordered to spread the same upon the Minute Book, which is now done—said report reading as follows, viz:
