Present all the members of the Board: In pursuance of a Call made by Governor Baker, the Board met to determine what action should be taken in reference to the location of the college, under the recent Act of the Legislature, and to confer with Hon. John Purdue, who under the provisions of said act is made one of the members of said board. In consideration of a donation of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars from him, the college when so located and organized, is to be known as Purdue University, from and after said location and the organization of the new Board of Trustees. Hon. E.B. Martindale, Treasurer, made his supplemental report, which, with the one heretofore made to the Governor, ex-officio President of the Board, on the 26 day of December 1868, was also submitted, and on motion of Mr. Taylor, ordered that both reports be entered in full upon the records as a part of the minutes of this meeting which said reports, read as follows to-wit.To Governor Conrad Baker, Ex-Officio President of the Indiana Agricultural College Board. On the 9th day of April, 1867, the Indiana Agricultural College Board, having advertised for the sale of the Indiana Agricultural College Scrip, and having received sundry sealed bids, proceeded to sell the same to the following parties and on the following terms. To Robert Cox 4 sections @ 60 c. per Acre. $1,536.00To John I. Morrison 2 sections @ 55 c. per Acre. $704.00To Laz Noble 5 sections @ 55 c. per Acre. $1,760.00To D.E. White 1 section @ 55 c. per Acre. $352.00To G.F. Lewis 597 3/8 sections @ 54 3/8 per Acre. $207,238.50[Total] $212,238.50three months time being given to the purchasers to pay the same.
