http://e-archives.lib.purdue.edu/botpdf/BOTM18790313.pdfLa Fayette March 13, 1879.Pursuant to a call of the President the Board of Trustees met this day at the University: Present President Sutherland, Messers [Messieurs] Wells, Haynes, Ratliff, Dablebower [Dobelbower] and Williams, Trustees. Also President White. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Messers [Messieurs] Williams, President White and Dablebower [Dobelbower] were appointed a Committe [Committee] to take in charge the repair of the gallery of the Chappel room. Mr. Dablebower [Dobelbower] was authorized by the Board to sell the evergreens west of the Military Hall. On motion it was ordered that the farm Committe [Committee] purchase another horse for the farm team. It was also ordered that Captain L.A. Burke’s bill for papering done in the farm house be allowed. On on [sic] motion it was ordered that Messers [Messieurs] Williams and Doblebower [Dobelbower] be a Committe [Committee] to Consider and audit the bills of Messers [Messieurs] LaRue and Burke for necessary expenses in the service of the university and that the amount allowed by them be paid. Mr. Williams offered the following resolution which was unanimously adopted to wit: “Resolved that the resolution adopted by this Board on the first day of September 1875 terminating the employment of the President, Proffessors [Professors] and Teachers at the end of each Collegiate year be and the same is hereby rescinded, and that whenever any Proffessor [Professor] or teacher employed in Purdue University has been reappointed after one
