Manson, President of the Board, and Messrs. [Messieurs] Sutherland, Wells, Ratliff, Haynes and Dobelbower—trustees: also Prest. [President] White. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Mr. Dobelbower made report of the expenditures for the Philalethean Society, amounting to $100.00 which report was approved, and said amount allowed and ordered to be paid.President White, in behalf of the Committee on the employment of an Engineer, reported verbally that the Committee had appointed Lewis Bianchi as Engineer, and Michael O’Connell as Assistant Engineer at $40.00 a month each; Bianchi to have the use of the Engineer’s House rent free, with gas and fuel for one stove. The report was approved. The President (White) then read to the Board his Fourth Annual Report, prepared by him for presentation to the coming Legislature; which was approved. The Report of The Farm Superintendent L.A. Burke, to be submitted to the Legislature along with the report of the President and others of the Faculty, was also read and approved. Certain communications from organizations of the Sigma Chi Society, asking the Board to repeal the regulations of the Faculty prohibiting Greek Societies (so-called) on the part of the students of the University, were then read and taken under advisement by the Board. Then the Board adjourned to meet to-morrow morning, at this place, at 9 o’clock.
