The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in the Trustees' Room of the University at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, May 10, ,1945, pursuant to ; the adjournment of the morning of April 18, 1945, and further pursuant to the fol- j lovdng notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on April 18, 1945:
¦ President Hillenbrand has instmcted me to notify you that there vrill be an adjourned meeting of the stated meeting of April 18-19, 1945, of the Board of Tmstees of The Trustees of Purdue University on Thursday and Friday, May 10-11, 1945, convening at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, May 10, in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University, in order to consider and act upon any matter or business that may come before said meeting.
II. ROLL CALL.
The meeting was called to order by President Hillenbrand at 9:30 a.m. The jj following Tmstees v/ere present: Miss McHale, Messrs. Cole, Hanley, Hillenbrand, pRuthenburg, Stuart, Thompson and Wilson, constituting a majority and CLUOrum. Mr, I Sturm's arrival was delayed by business elsewhere. By consent, his absence at the i opening of the meeting was excused,

Also present were President Elliott, Controller Stewart, and Mr. Hockema, Secretary to the Board,
j; III. EXECUTIVE SESSION.
|: At 9:35 the Board went into Executive Session.

j By order of the Board of Trustees the following minutes and actions of the
|: Board at its Executive Session of this morning were ordered recorded as the actions
j; of the Board.
ED'WARD C. ELLIOTT ELECTED AND DESICSIATED PREsSeNT EMERITUS.
The following resolution was presented by Mr. Hanley, who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Mr. Cole.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University that there be and hereby is created the office of President Eiaeritus of Purdue University, such officer to perfoim such duties as i may be mutually agreed upon betv/een him and the President of the Uni¬ versity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that effective July 1, 1945, Edward C Elliott, retiring President of Purdue University be and he is hereby elected and designated President Eineritus of said University for and during his natural life; that as President Emeritus he be permitted to retain, as his personal office, use of the room heretofore assigned to him, being 205A Executive Building.
