ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY

January 19, 1944
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Pxirdue University met in adjourned session on Wednesday, January 19, 1944, at 10:30 A, M,, pursuant to the adjourn¬ ment of the morning of January 1, 1944, and further ptirsuant to the follovfing notice which had been sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on January 3, 1944:
President Noel has instructed me to notify you that there will be an adjourned session of the stated meeting of January 1, 1944, of the Board of Tmstees of The Trustees of Purdue University on V/ednesday, January 19, 1944, convening at 10:30 A. M,, in the Trustees* Room of the Executive Building of the University, in order to consider and act upon any matter or business that may come before said meeting.
II. ROLL CALL.
The meeting was called to order at 10:30 A. M. by President Noel. The follow¬ ing Trustees were present: Miss McHale, Messrs, Cole, Hanley, Hillenbrand, Noel, Ruthenburg, Stuart, Stuxm, and Thompson, constituting a majority and quorimof the Board.
Doctor Edward C. Elliott, President of the University, Mr. R, B. Stewart, Con¬ troller of the University, and Mr. Frank C Hockema, Secretary to the Board, were also present.
III. AUTHORITY TO CONFER DEGREES AS OF JANUARY g.
President ElMott presented a list of candidates for bachelor and advanced degrees as recommended by the President and the Faculty of the University and certified by the Registrar:
