President Stviart caned toe meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. An members of the Board except Mr, Hanley were present as fonows: Mrs, Van Ness, Messrs, Canand, Cole, Lynn, O'Brien, Sherwood, Stuart and Thompson. By consent Mr. Hanley's absence -was excused. Also present were President Ho-yde, Controner Stewart, Assis-tant Controner Ket-tler, Secretory Hockana, and Assis-tant Secre¬ tory Skinner,
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES QF BOARD MEETING HELD, APRIL 20y 1949.
The Secretery reported toat toe minutes of toe steted meeting of toe Board of Trustees held Aprn 20, 1949, had been sent to each Trustee, and toat no sug¬ gestions or correc-tions had been received from any Trvistee,
After discussion and upon motion (Thompson-Lynn) vmanimously carried, toe minutes of toe Board meeting held April 20, 1949, were approved,
IV. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR C. J. ZUFALL.
President Hovde requested appro-yal of a leave of absence for Mr, C. J, , Zvifan, Professor of Pharmacognosy, for toe period from September 1, 1949, to June 30, 1950, wito 1055 of salary to cover his retirement aimuity contributions provided Professor Zufan arranges to pay his contribution of 5% of salary, to permit him to accept an appointment as Visiting Professor of toe Faculty of Medicine of Fouad University, Cairo, Egypt,
After discussion and upon motion (Ljrnn-Thompson) vinanimovisly carried, toe leave of absence for Professor C. J, Zufan was approved as recommended.
Vt LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR H.E. KOFFLER.
President Ho-yde requested approval of a leave of absence for Mr. H, E. Koffler, Assistant Professor of Bacteriology, for toe period from Jvily 10, 1949, to August 9, 1949, wito pay, to permit him to attend a training covirse on toe use of radio-active isotopes at Oak Ridge Institute, Oak Ridge, Tennessee,
