The Board of Tjpustees of The Trustees of Purdue University met in -the Purdue University Extension Center, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, at 11:00 a.mw, Wednes¬ day, January 5, 19^9» pursuant to -the follo"wing notice sent to each member of the Board \jy the Secre-bary on December 20, 19A8;
President Stxaart has asked me to notify you that there vill be a special meeting of the Board of trustees of The 'trustees of Purdue University on Wednesday, January 5, 194^9, convening at 11:00 a.m. in -the Purdue-Ft. Wayne Center, located at 220 Jefferson Street, Ft, Wayne, Indiana, in order to:
1, Inspect the Piardue-Ft. Wayne Center;
2. Act upon a request to increase Laboratory and Library Fee from $25.00 to $30.00 per semester, effective September 1, 19A9j
3« Act upon a recommendation to increase from $30.00 -to $35.00 per semester the benefits of -the present semester scholarships and the benefits to University s"taff dependents (-vfaiver of Laboratory and Library Fee and Inciden-tal fee), effective September 1, 1949; and !,        4. Consider and act upon any o-ther matter or business \rtiich may come before said meeting.
II. ROLL CALL.
At 11:00 a.m. members of the Board inspected the Ft. Wayne Extension Center. They vera guests of Mr. A. W, Kettler, BSCE 1915, at a luncheon at the Ft. Wayne Country Club.
Mr. Thompson, as chairman pro tempore, called -the meeting of the Board to order at 2:A0 p.m. All members of the Board except Mr. Hanley and Mr. Stuart vere present as follows: Mrs. Van Ness, Messrs, Galland, Cole, Lynn, O'Brien, Sherwood, and Thompson. Also present were President Hovde, Controller Stewart, and Secretaiy Hockema.
III. INCREASE IN LABORATORY AND LIBRARI FEE.
President Hovde reported concerning the problems of assessing, collecting and aviditing of special course fees. The President recommended -that, effective September 1, 1949, the present Laboratory and Library fee of $25.00 per semester be increased to $30.00 per semester in lieu of -the following special course fees which would then be eliminated:
