Febrviary 18, 1954 TheBoard of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in special meeting in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of Purdue Uni¬ yersity at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 1954, pursuant to the following notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on February 15, 1954: President Hanley has asked me to notify you that there -will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 1954, inthe Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University in order to: 1. Consider and act upon all matters pertaining to the Purdue Union-Hall of Music Annex bond issue, and to 2. Consider and act upon any other matter or business which may come before said meeting. (Trustees had also been given notice of naeeting by telephone or telegraph on February 15 and 16, 1954.) II. ROLL CALL. President Hanley called the meeting to order at 2:00 p. m. All members of the Board except three were present as follows: Mrs. Crooks, Messrs. Anderson, Hanley, Kettler, Lynn and Wilson. By consent the absences of Messrs. Branigin, Teetor and Thompson were excused. Also present were Treasurer Stewart, Assistant Treasurer Kettler, Comptroller Freehafer, Secretary Hockema, and Assistant Secretary Skinner. III. PROPOSAL RE ACQUISITION OF LIMBERLOST CAMP. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wainwright, owners of Limberlost Camp, and Mr. George T, Schilling, Legal Counsel, entered the meeting. Treasurer Stewart recalled to the Board a proposal presented August 20, 1963, Minute XXVIU, concerning acquisition of Limberlost Camp in LaGrange County by the Purdue Research Foundation. Since that time, with the coopera¬ tion of other staff members, a revised proposal has been prepared which the Treasurer recommended as follows: 1) Mr. and Mrs. Wainwright will deed to the Purdue Research Founda¬ tion approximately 400 acres of land, with buildings and improve¬ ments, known as Limberlost Camp, the Foundation to pay them, upon clearance of title, etc, the sum of $36, 000. 00. (It will cost the Foundation approximately $15, 000. 00 additional funds to re¬ habilitate the camp for use at this time.) 2) Mr. and Mrs. Wainwright will retain a life interest in approximately 80 acres of land and the farm buildings, with the Foundation bearing the cost of major items of maintenance thereon.
