235. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UHIVBRSITY. Nov.19,1920.. ELIZA FOWLER HALL. TRUSTEES ROOM. 5:00 p.m. (I JLH ^. A /tt(j.v"-?x4 Y^jJLmJU ,>fl:x-i-J^^^-—^ Present: Messrs. Breaks, Chamdler, Hillenbrand, Hobbs, Isenbarger, Noel, Oliver and Stuart. The minutes of the last meeting, October 6, 1920, were read and approved. Mr. Stanley Green, in charge of the Student Union matters, i^ ix^:^su^ ^u^^-^^,^ ^g^g called in and gave, verbally, a report on the nature of the work done and a statement of amounts pledged and collected. President Oliver selected the following parties to constitute a Committee to visit the new Student Building at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and also stated that he would go with them. Committee as follows: Messrs. Noel, Hobbs, Breaks, Hillenbrand and Stone. Mr. Stuart presented extracts from a letter,from Dr. Beverly V. Bond, concerning the standing of the University and the work of Dr. Stone. The Board decided that the same be spread in the records. October 28th, 1920. /]^^.YY.e.. Mr. E.A. Ellsworth, Secretary of Trustees of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Dear Ed: I recently received a letter from Dr. B.W. Bond,Jr., who is now connected with the University of Cincinnati and who was con¬ nected with our Educational Staff for years. In this letter he pays a fine tribute to Dr. Stone and I would like to have you read the same at the next meeting of the Board. I quote as follows from his letter: "I forgot to say that I am constantly impressed with the fi" organization and the splendid standaurds of scholarship maintained Purdue. Having been to three other large institutions within the P ^g year I believe I am peculiarly qualified to speak. I hope the True
