L    NOTICE OF MEETING,
September 4,   1958
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in special meeting in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday,   September 4,   1958,  pursuant to the following notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on August 12,   1958:
President Hanley has asked me to notify you that there wfll be.a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convening at 10:00 a.m.   (CDT) on Thursday, September 4,   1958,  in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University in order to:
1) Receive,   open,   consider and act upon bids for:
a) Union-Hall of Music Annex - Library Remodeling,
b) Remodeling of Alumni Association Offices,  Purdue Memorial Union,
c) Executive Building,   Ground Floor - Remodeling 1958,
d) Waste Water Drain - Intramural Drive to Executive Mall;
2) Consider and act upon any other matter or business which
naay come before said me.eting,
II,    ROLL CALL.
In the absence of the President, .Vice President Thompson called the meeting to order at 10:00 a, m.    All.members of the Board except two were present as follows:   Mrs,  Van Ness,   Messrs.  Bannon,  DeLaurier,   Lynn, Moore,   Thompson and Wilson.    By consent.of the Board,  the absences of Messrs,  Hanley and Kettler were excused.    Also present were President Hovde,  Vice President and Treasurer Stewart,  Assistant .Treasurer and Business Manager Freehafer,   Counsel Schilling,  Assistant Business Manager Gabbard,  Assistant to the President Hicks,  Assistant Secretary Lowe,  Assistant Pereida,  and Secretary Skinner.    Mr.  Johnston,  Bureau of information,  and Mr.  Crandall,   representing the Lafayette Journal-Courier,   entered the meeting,
m.    CERTIFICATE OF APPOINTMENT OF MRS.  JOHN W.   VAN NESS,
The Secretary reported notification of the Certificate of Appointment, by the Governor,  of Mrs,  John W.  Van Ness,  Valparaiso,   Indiana,  to the Board of Trustees,   effective July 1,   1958,  for a period of three years or until her successor is appointed and qualified.
