i I.    NOTICE OF MEETING.
I The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened
j in special meeting in Room 326,   Purdue Memorial Center,   at 2:05 p. m.   on
; Tuesday,   January 17,   1961,   pursuant to action of the Board on October 28,
! i960,   and further pursuant to the following notice sent to each member of the
I Board by the Secretary on December 28,   I96O:

|! In accordance with action of the Board of Trustees on October 28,
ji i960,   there will be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of
! The Trustees of Purdue University on Tuesday,   January 17,   I96I,
convening at 2:00 p.m.   CDT in Room 326,   Purdue Memorial Center, I in order to:
1. Consider and discuss the Purdue University farm
program,   and
i
2. Consider and act upon any other matter or business
which may come before said meeting.
( n.    ROLL CALL.
:; The Trustees met for luncheon in Purdue Memorial Union then
^ moved to Room 326,   Purdue Memorial Center where President Hanley '   called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.    All members of the Board except j'  two were present as follows: Mrs.   Van Ness,   Messrs.   Creighton,   Hanley, || Kettler,   Rumely,  Schenck and Thompson.    The absences of Mr.  Branigin \  and Mr.   Wilson were excused by consent of the Board.    Also present were !   President Hovde,   Assistant Treasurer Freehafer,   Executive Dean Mallett, I  Assistant Business Manager Linn,   Legal Assistant Lowe,  Assistant Morris !j and Secretary Skinner,   and the following members of the Agricultural staffs: j  Dean E.   L.  Butz,  Director N.   J.  Volk,  Assistant Director N.  K.  Ellis, j! Associate Dean Freeman,   Dean E.  V.  Morse of the School of Veterinary i  Science and Medicine,   and Mr.   W.   M.   McVey,   Farm Director.

! President Hovde reported receipt of notification of the Certificate
j, of Appointment,   by the Governor,   of Mr.  A.   J.   Rumely,   Jr. ,   LaPorte, i; Indiana,   to the Board of Trustees,   effective as of December 1,   I96O,  for |j a period of three years (July 1,   1963) or until his successor is appointed jl and qualified.    Mr.   Rumely has been duly qualified by subscribing to his jl oath of office,   and copy of the signed oath had been filed with the Secretary.
