5ED MEETING or THE BOABD OF IRPSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY
Eliza Fowler Hall April 17, 1935
ii NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees of The Trastees of Purdue University met in Eliza
Fowler Hall at 9:50 A. M., Wednesday April 17, 1955, in accordance with the
bylaws, and in response to the following notice mailed by the Secretaiy to
each member of the Board on April 5, 1955:
"In accordance with the provisions of the bylaws, there will be a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees at 9:30 A. M., Wed¬ nesday April 17, 1955 in Eliza Fowler Hall."
II. ROLLCALL. There were present: Mrs. Meredith, Messrs Edgerton, Hall, Hillenbrand,
Lilly, Simpson, President Ross and the President of the University,
President Ross stated that Mr. Noel had an important case in court and could not leave Indianapolis and that Mr. Kimbrough had taken Mr. Noel's place at the meeting of the Executive and Finance Committee on April 16, but had not been able to remain for the Board meeting.
President Ross presided and the Secretaiy acted as secretaiy. Controller Stewart entered about 11:00 A. M. and sat with the Board dur¬ ing the remainder of the session.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES. President Ross announced that the Secretary had notified him that each
member of the Board of Trustees had signed a statement approving the mimeo¬ graphed copy of the minutes of the stated meeting held Januaiy 16, 1955; and that the minutes were therefore unanimously approved. The signed approvals are filed with the other documents of the January meeting.
IV. PRESENTATION OF PUBLICATION. President Elliott presented to each member of the Board a copy of "The
Government of Higher Education," a handbook for the governing boards of
