I.    NOTICE OF MEETING.
September 30,   1959
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of ^Purdue University convened I in special meeting in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of Purdue i University at 9:25 a.m.  CST on Wednesday,  September f 30, ¦ 1^95 9,  pursuant ! to the following notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on I September 15,   1959: - ¦-,¦   '}'¦-.'.
i President Hanley has asked me to notUy you that there will be a
I special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue
I University convening at 10:00 a.m.  CDT on Wednesday,  September 30,
I 1959,   in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University
i to enable the officers to report,   in addition to routine business,  the
j present status of such projects as:
i
I 1.    The air-borne television project in cooperation with the
i Ford Foundation;
i
I 2.    Purdue University Airport development project;
I I
! 3.    The Purdue-Indiana Extension Center program in Fort
I Wayne and the Indiana-Purdue Foundation at Fort Wayne;
I 4.    The Purdue Calumet Development Foundation and the need
j to expand its activities in conjunction with the development
of Indiana's new port and the program of the Midwest Steel I Plant; .•    „
5.    Report of new Indianapolis Extension Center developments.
I Mr.  Hanley,  President of the Board,  has requested that the stated
I quarterly meeting,  which is the biennial organizational meeting,  be
postponed because he cannot be present.    At the special meeting on i September 30,   a convenient date in November will be set for the
I organizational meeting of the Board of Trustees.

i n.    ROLL CALL.
jl In the absence of the President,  Vice President Thompson called the
jnaeetingto order at 9t25 a.na.  CST.    All members of the Board except two ;|were present as follows:   Mrs.  Van Ness,  Messrs.  Branigin,  DeLaurier, jl Kettler,  Schenck,   Thompson and Wilson.    The absences of Mr.  Hanley and [Mr.  Creighton were excused by consent of the Board.    Mr.  Hanley entered ithe meeting at 9:45 a.m.  and took the chair.
