ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTSES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY^
Eliza Fowler Hall June 10, 1955
ii NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Tmstees of The Trustees of Purdue University met in Eliza Fowler Hall at 9:50 A. M. Monday June 10, 1935, in accordance with the by¬ laws and in response to the following notice mailed by the Secretaiy to each member of the Board on May 27, 1935:
"In accordance with the provisions of the bylaws, the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Tmstees of Purdue Univer¬ sity will be held in Eliza Fowler Hall at 9:50 A. M. on Monday, June 10, 1955, the d£y preceding Commencement Day."
II. ROLLCALL.
There were present: Mrs. Meredith, Messrs Edgerton, Hall, Hillenbrand, Noel, Simpson, President Ross and the President of the University.
President Elliott stated that Mr. Lilty could not be present, as he was at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, where he would receive the honoraiy degree of Doctor of Science. He also reported that Mr. Kimbrough had been ill for some weeks and was not able to attend the meeting.
President Ross presided and the Secretary acted as secretaiy.
Controller Stewart entered at 10:50 A. M. and sat with the Board during the remainder of the session.
III. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES.
President Ross announced that the Secretsuy had notified him that all
members of the Board except Mr. Kimbrough* had signed a statement approving
the mimeographed copy of the minutes of the stated meeting held April 17,
1955, except that Mrs. Meredith had called attention to Item XX, regarding
"The Emplcyment of Married Women", which she felt should be extended by a
statement of the action of the Executive Committee, which was not approved by *Mr. Kimbrough's approval of the minutes of the meeting of April 17, 1955 was received on June 11, 1955.
