!;     1^   NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Pvurdue University convened in the . Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of Purdue University at lljOO a.m., Monday, July 12, 1948, pursuant to the following notice sent to each member of the Board by the President on June 21, 1948:
"A special meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building, Monday, July 12th, at 11:00 o'clock A.M. Daylight Savings Time.
"The subject of the establishment of a School of Veterinary Science and Medicine at the University "rfiich has been a matter of general dis¬ cussion at some previotis meetings of the Board apparently is becoming an immediate and concrete issue. The meeting will be held for the purpose of discussing and taking ai^ appropriate action on this subject and also to consider alternate locations for the new soils and crops farm as submitted by the committee having this matter in char^ge^
"The meeting should adjourn by noon and lunch will be served to the Trustees."
II. ROLL CALL.
President Stuart called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. All members of the Board except three were present as follows: Messrs, Calland, Cole, Lynn, Sherwood, Stuart and Thompson, The absences of Mrs. Van Ness and Messrs. HaxHey and O'Brien were excused by consent. Also present were President Hovde, Controller Stewart and Secretary Hockema.
III. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF BEAPPOINTIffiNT OF MR. CHARLES J._ LSJN*
Mr. Charles J. Lynn presented his certificate of reappointment by the Governor to the Board of Trustees of Purdue University, effective July 1, 1948, for a period of three years or until his successor is appointed and qualified.
Mr. Lynn had been duly qualified hy subscribing to his oath of office.
IV. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF REAPPOINTMENT OP m^, Rj. HARTLEY SHERW00£»
Mr. R. Hartley Sherwood presented his certificate of reappointment by the Governor to the Board of Trustees of Purdue University, effective July 1, 1948, for a period of three years or until his successor is appointed and qualified.
Mr. Sherwood had been duly qualified by subscribing to his oath of office.
V^, REPORT m PROPOSED LOCATION QL NM SOILS AND CROPS FARM.
President Hovde reported regarding the proposed location of a new soils and crops farm which is located on the County Farm Road, He further reported that the proposed site involved six or eight different owners >rtio are not ^^ f.^^. sell their land. President Hovde stated that it was his judgment that ^^"^^ farm is a better location and that we might approach Mr. Lyman again regarding
sale of his farm.
