•  I. NOTICE OF MEETING.
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of Purdue University at 10:05 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 1947, pursuant to the following notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on May 13, 1947:
President Stuart has instructed me to notify you that there rill be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Tmstees of Purdue University on Thursday, May 29, 1947, convening at 9:30 a.m. in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University, in order to:
1. Receive, open, consider and act upon bids-for
a. Addition to the Civil Engineering Building,
b. Remodeling of the loachine shop in the General •
Engineering Building,
c. Utilities and grading for temporary construction
of educational facility,
d. Elevator extension in Physics Building,
e. Alterations in Mechanical Engineering and Heat
Transfer Buildings;
2. Consider and act upon any other matter or business that may I come before said meeting.
II. ROLL CALL.
President Stuart called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. The folloring Trustees were present: Mrs. Van Ness, Messrs. Hanley, Lynn, O'Brien, Stuart, Thompson and Wilson. The absences of Mr, Cole and Mr. Sherwood, due to urgent business elsewhere, were excused by consent. Also present were President Hovde, Controller Stewart, Secretary Hockema, and Assistant Secretary Skinner,
III. OPE^JING OF BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION.
At 10:10 a.m. the following entered the meeting; Dean A. A, Potter, Pro¬ fessors H. A. Bolz and H. L." Solberg, Mr, R, T, Hamilton, Superintendent of Physical Plant, Mr,  H, B, Abbett, Purchasing Agent, 14r, J, M, Schluntz, Construc¬ tion Superintendent, Mr, Walter Scholer and Mr. Walter Scholer, Jr., architects, and representatives of the companies submitting bids on the following projects:
1) Addition to the Ciril Engineering Building,
2) Remodeling of the machine shop in the General Engineering Bulldmg)
3) Utilities and grading for temporary construction of educational
facility,
4) Elevator extension in Physics Building,
5) Alterations in Mechanical Engineering and Heat Transfer Buildings.
