_ STATIDMEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE 'UNIVERSITY
Executive Building April 16, 1947
I. NOTICE OF MEETING,
The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened in the Tmstees' Room of the Executive Building of Purdue liiiversity at 9:TO a,m., Wed¬ nesday, April 16, 1947, pursuant to the folloring notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on April 1, 1947:
In accordance rith the prorisions of the By-Laws, there rill be a stated meeting of the Board of trustees of ^e TrTistees of Purdue Univer¬ sity on Wednesday, April 16, 1947, convening at 9:30 a.m. in the Trustees* Room of the Executive Brilding of the University, in order to consider and act upon any matter or business that may come before said meeting.
II. ROLL CALL.
President Stuart called the meeting to order at 9:50 a.m. ^e following Trustees were present: Mrs. Van Ness, Messrs. Cole, Hanley, Lynn, %erwood, Stuart, Thompson, and Wilson, constituting a majority and quorum, ^e absence of Mr. O'Brien, because of illness, was excused by consait. Also present were President Hovde, Controller Stewart, Secretary Hockema and Assistant Secretary Skinner.
III. NEXT MEETING.
President Stuart announced that the next meeting of the Board worid be called on Qiursday, May 15, 1947, at 9:30 a.m., in order to consider the Uni¬ versity budget for the fiscal year 1947-1948;

President Hovde presented to the Board a letter of acknowledgment from Mrs. Morris E. McCarty for flowers sent to the funeral of Mr. McCarty, Superintendent of Lafayette Schools.
By consent the letter was received and ordered filed by the Secretary.
V. MMORIAL RESOLUTION ON THE DEATH OF PAUL B. STURM.
Mr. Thompson presented a memorial resolution on the death of Paul B. Sturm, former member of the Board of Trustees, as prepared by Mr. Thompson, Mr, Cole and Mr. Wilson. The Secretary read the resolution as follows:

The untimely death of Paul B. Sturm brought to a close the active and influential life of one of Indiana's prominent leaders in the field of agri¬ culture, of a young man who had devoted his life to the betterment of all people, but especially of those directly interestediiagriculture.
