36 SPECIJiL LIEKTING OF THE BO/iRD OF TRUSTEES OF TtlE TRUSTEES OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY _ _ Executive Building October 16, 1945 I_j_ NOTICE OF MEETING. The Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University convened at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 1945, in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the University, pursuant to the following notice sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on September 17, 1945: President Hillenbrand has instructed me to notify you that there \7ill be a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 1945, in the Trustees' Room of the Executive Building of the Ifiiiversity, to consider and act upon any matter or business that may come before said meeting. II. ROLL CALL. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by President Hillenbrand. The follovang Trustees were present: Miss McHale, Messrs. Cole, Hanley, Hillenbrand, Lynn, Shemvood, Stuart, Thompson and Wilson, thus constituting a majority and quo¬ rum. Also present were Acting President Potter, President Elect iiovde. Controller Stewart, Secretary Hockema and Assistant Secretary Skinner. III. SPECIAL MEETING, NOVEMBER Sj. 1945. Secretary Hockema announced the probability of a special meeting to be called on Saturday, November 3, 1945, for the purpose of considering bids for construction of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory and for construction and financing of Student Apartment Dormitories. IV. REPORT RE UNIVERSITY" LIEL'lBSfiSHIP IN INDIAi^A COUNCIL OF STATE ORGANIZATIONS (Minute XLVI, July 24, .1945). Controller Stevmrt reported that, after conferring with Director Knight of the Division of Education and Applied Psychology, he recommended that Purdue University should not apply for membership in the Indiana Council of State Organizations. After discussion and upon motion (Stuart-Hanley) tinanimously carried, the Board received the foregoing report and approved the recommendation of the Con¬ troller. 21 REPORT RR MQDEraJIZATION OF CUIfcllNGHAM FORESTRY FMM RESIDEi^CE (Minute VEI, August 21, 1945). Controller Stev/art reported that as yet no contract had been let for the modemization of the Cunningham Forestiy Farm Residence, but that some lumber has been purchased. He further reported that the total cost indicated at present Mil be approximately ^860.00. By consent of the Board, the foregoing report of progress was received as a matter of record.
