I notice which had been sent to each member of the Board by the Secretary on

I December 26, 1940:
i In accordance with the provisions of the By-Laws, there will be
j^ a stated meeting of the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue j University on Wednesday and Thursday, January 15 and 16, 1941, conven¬ ing at 9:30 A, M., Wednesday, in the Trustees' Room of the Executive j Building of the Universi-ty.
II. ROLL CALL.
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 A, M. by President Ross. The fol- S lowing Trustees were present: Miss McHale, Mr. Hanley, Mr. Hillenbrand, Mr. i Noel, Mr. Ross, Mr, Stuart, Mr, Stxirm, and Mr. Wheeler, a majority and quorum of \ the Board.
The Secretary reported that Mr. Edgerton was absent because of urgent busi- I ness elsewhere, but that he planned to be present on Thursday, January 16, 1941. ii After discussion and upon proper motion duly seconded and unanimously carried,

iMr. iSgerton's excuse for absence was approved.
|i Dr. Edward C. Elliott, President of the University, and Frank C Hockema,

III, PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF APPOINTMENT BY MR^ MLLIAM A^ HANLET.
Mr. William A. Hanley presented his certificate of appointment by the Gov-
[ emor to the Board of Trustees of The Trustees of Purdue University, effective
I December 2, 1940,, for the unexpired tem of Mr. J. Emmett Hall or until his suc- !. . ....
i cesser is appointed and qualified.
Mr. Hanley had duly qualified before a notary.
